Kyle Larson simply put had the most dominate car for the Coca-Cola 600 Sunday night. After getting the pole and from the drop of the green flag, the 5 team would stay out front all night long leading 327 of the 400 lap event capturing his second win of the season. This win also marked a record breaking 269 NASCAR Cup series wins for Hendrick Motorsports passing Petty Enterprises for the most Cup wins by an organization in series history.

The longest race of the year always puts the drivers to their limits between mental and physical exhaustion, this was no different as only 14 cars finished the race on the lead lap. It almost became another Hendrick sweep with all four cars finishing in the top five and Kyle Busch finished in third. Kyle Larson was untouchable all night long, his closest competition was his teammate Chase Elliot who would finish runner up and the only non HMS driver being Busch. The Coca-Cola 600 ran very few caution laps including the stage breaks as Chip Ganassi Teammates Kurt Busch and Ross Chastain both suffered engine issues early in the race.

This race marked the third consecutive 1-2 finish for Rick Hendrick, does this make this years championship theirs to lose? Kyle Larson is proving his worth as one of if not the best current talents in the NASCAR garage and around the United States.
