Only leading 16 of the 130 lap scheduled race, it was lady luck helping Bowman secure the victory as Kyle Larson in the final lap would run into problems as a flat tire would send him from the lead to finishing ninth place as the 48 car would pass him into the final turn to take the win over his teammate. Cole Custer would have his day ended early near the end of stage one as he would come up the race track on the long front straightaway while Brad Keselowski dove down trying to pass and avoid him, the two would ultimately make contact and send Custer hard into the wall with a lot of damage. Kyle Busch would wound up as your winner for stage one as William Byron would finish second. This mark

Fuel mileage would make all the difference in race two of the Pocono doubleheader. As per the rules of the doubleheader weekend, the top 20 finishers of race one started inverted which put Michael McDowell and Chris Buescher on the front row for the start of the race.  Stage one though saw early troubles for McDowell's teammate Anthony Alfredo, as he had a tire go down and would hit the wall bringing out the first caution of the day on lap two. Martin Truex Jr would go on to win the first stage as William Byron would race his way back on to the lead lap by beating Truex to the line at the end of the stage. Stage two saw Kyle Busch take the lead but at the same ti

StatChat - NASCAR Cup Series @ Pocono

After this weekend’s doubleheader at Pocono, we will only be 7 races away from the start of the playoffs.  3 of those will be road courses (Road America, Watkins Glen and Indianapolis), and none of the 7 tracks will return in the playoffs.  While it’s obvious that for those drivers who have yet to score a win this season, every race will be about securing that playoff spot.  But for the drivers who have already won, there may be a chance for us to see some slightly more unorthodox strategy calls.   Will those drivers compete extra hard for stage wins, wanting to pad their playoff points?  Will they take a chance on a slightly different setup, something that could give them an edge come playoff time – but the stakes aren’t as high if it fails miserably?  Kyle Larson seems content to just keep on winning, as there doesn’t seem to be much experimentation necessary for the 5 team.  However, what about a driver like Martin Truex Jr.? With 3 wins under his belt, he can coast comforta

The Playoff Forecast - Week 18 DoubleHeader @ Pocono

Image
Welcome to our NASCAR Cup Series Projections page.  The Playoff Forecast is where you will find the probability of each 2021 charter making the playoffs, their chances of advancing to future rounds, and also their odds of winning the Championship.    Projections are calculated by simulating the 2021 Cup Series schedule 50,000 times, using a top-secret predictive formula that is based on 3 important factors: Driver History @ Each Track, Driver Recent Overall History, and Team Performance.   This page will be updated every week, incorporating each week’s real results to (ideally) make the formula more accurate.  Keep checking back to see how your favorite driver’s odds change from week to week!   *note – As 2021 is this project’s first season, some of the underlying formulas and data were tweaked after race 10 in order to better reflect the parity in the NASCAR Cup Series.   Forecast – After Race 17     Projected Winner of the Pocono Organics CBD 325

Motorsport Games June 2021 Investor Presentation Review

Image
Motorsport Games recently presented to their investors for their June 2021 outlook.  The company did not go into great detail about any new features coming into the next NASCAR video game installments, but they did provide some insight into where the company is at in its current state.  The presentation went over the studios and licenses acquired by Motorsport Games, as well as what that meant for the future.  After reviewing the presentation, here's what I found to be the key takeaways for NASCAR gaming fans: Multiple Games Coming The biggest takeaway is the projection of new NASCAR games coming soon.  The first and foremost of these is the NASCAR NXT project.  This project is looking at a target release around the back half of the third quarter of 2021.  However, Motorsport Games did confirm second and third installments to the project set to be released in 2022 and 2023 respectively.  Furthermore, the company is looking to release two NASCAR mobile games in 2021.  Lastly, a NASC
