Kyle Busch's #18 car fails twice during pre-race inspection.

Two time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch has his work cut out for him this weekend at Richmond. The 6 time Richmond Raceway winner has yet to finish in first in his 2020 campaign, and the opportunity just became a little more challenging for Saturday's event in Virginia.

His Mars Brands Toyota failed the scanning inspection system on two separate attempts and he will start the race from the rear of the field as punishment. The #18 team also failed post race inspection a week ago today at Darlington's Southern 500.

Buescher’s Rally Halted by Late Incident in Daytona Clash

(Feb. 9, 2021) – Chris Buescher drove all the way up to fourth with just a handful of laps remaining in Tuesday night’s Busch Clash race, but his promising run was cut short when he was collected by an incident in the final turns of Daytona’s road course. With damage to his Fastenal Ford Mustang, Buescher was forced to settled for a 17 th -place finish in the chaotic exhibition event.   Buescher rolled off the grid in 13th after Monday night’s random draw. With a competition caution set for lap 15, pit strategy came into play when the No. 17 team elected to stay out with an early caution at lap eight. This was the first major publication written by retired auto racer Bill Lester in regards to his racing career. He's won many awards, some great races, and been recognized by his peers in his former field of work in computer engineering as well. When I found out that Bill was sharing a detailed exploration of his story, it was one that I wanted to read. Not as a member of NASCAR's independent media, but as a fan. At 9 years of age I learned about former NASCAR winner Wendell Scott's career. It bothered me to hear the reasons why he was not always embraced.
