NASCAR's Truck Series to be renamed again...back to CAMPING WORLD branding in 2021.

 


NASCAR announced this morning that Camping World Holdings has decided to switch back to the Camping World branding in their sponsorship of the touring truck series. For the last two seasons, the truck series has promoted the Gander Outdoors and RV branding. 


Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis announced informally the decision on Twitter. 

“The transition back to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series demonstrates the continued power of NASCAR’s brand-loyal fan base and creates a broader touchpoint with fans who are RV and Outdoor enthusiasts, “ said Marcus Lemonis in a press comment provided by NASCAR.

The 2020 season will remain known as the Gander Outdoor and RV Truck Series. The NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series was formerly known as the SuperTruck Series by Craftsman (1995), the Craftsman Truck Series (1996-2008), the Camping World Truck Series (2009-2018) and the Gander Outdoors Truck Series (2019).

NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Review: Clean Harbors 200

All three of NASCAR's National Touring series came into the weekend on a level playing field.  All three series were entering their Round of 8.  All three series had the same 4 tracks left in front of them.  Finally, all three series presented an opportunity to 8 drivers to go out and clinch their shot at a championship in Phoenix.  For the Truck series, that's exactly what the 8 remaining playoff drivers set out to do.  Ultimately, only one could lock up a spot in the Championship 4.  However, the playoff battle was not the only story, perhaps not even the biggest story of the day.  This was because rising star Hailie Deegan was set to make her first ever NASCAR Touring series start.  Deegan was driving the #17 Ford F150 for DGR Crosley Racing, a ride which was announced later in the race that she would be driving in the Truck Series in 2021.  The round of 8 was set to begin. The 2021-22 silly season has been another wild one thus far. The most surprising news was originally  Brad Keselowski going to Roush-Fenway Racing as the driver and co-owner of the #6 Ford. However, that quickly became the worst-kept secret in NASCAR. The real shocker came when Chip Ganassi sold all of his NASCAR assets to Trackhouse Racing.  Ross Chastain will drive a second car for Trackhouse, the #1 will transfer along with other team assets. Sticking with the Ganassi/Trackhouse deal.... While nothing has been confirmed in regards to Kurt Busch’s 2022 plans, there’s heavy speculation that he could be driving a second car for 23XI Racing. Busch himself has said his deal is “so close to being done”, though he gave no indication of where that could be.
