It was a hard charging day for Alex Bowman and the 48 crew as he started 16th and wouldn't make his way into the top 10 til the end of stage one where he would finish 9th. As the crew continuously worked on car, improving it in the second stage where he would finish third behind teammates Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott. The same top four continued to dominate the final stage swapping positions as 48 team continues their winning ways with a 1-2-3-4 team sweep.
Bowman the Showman is showing now why he was the correct choice in filling the 48 car after Jimmie Johnson's retirement. Picking up season win number two at the track considered to be the 48's bread and butter.
Kyle Larson after what seemed to another dominant afternoon winning the first two stages would once again finish second. While Hendrick Motorsports put on a clinic, others struggled hard as both Aric Almirola and Chase Briscoe would crash out early again. Josh Berry in his Cup debut subbing for Justin Haley as he recovers from Covid 19 finished a respectable 30th.
As the second multiple race winner of the year, is this the year Bowman showcases championship contention?
